Christians and other religious people are often called “people of faith,” but do you ever wonder if your own faith needs a little kick-start? We read in the gospels when Christ tells his disciples that if they have faith like a grain of mustard seed, they could move mountains. If that’s the case, our own faith feels like it’s in the size category of a subatomic particle. Is there a way to strengthen our faith? Of course, there are...
By the way, What is faith though? Do we really understand it? Although faith has several definitions, we can define it as the heart’s conviction of truth, and mental affirmation of that truth. Faith plays a key role in our salvation as well as our daily life as believers.
So how can we know if our own faith to lord Jesus Christ is weak? When we're weak in faith —
- We can doubt God’s forgiveness.
- We're not sure God loves us.
- We don’t believe God is in control.
- We tempted to pursue sin more than Jesus.
- We worry about the future.
- We feel discouraged.
- We're a lack of spiritual motivation.
- We are not paying our tithing
- We go to church late
Maybe you are wondering why I add the last one, It is because I observe that in attending church we are always late, why? How can we keep the sabbath day Holy if we are always late? Why if other things like going to school, going to work we are always on time. Why we can't make it go to church on time? Brothers and sisters, I tell you by attending church on the time it will help us to grow our faith it will help us to boost our interest in studying the word of God- which is a very important part for us as a Christians- to know the teachings of God and apply those to our daily lives.
When faith is weak, we can feel like nothing will ever change — that we’ll never again be strong in faith or feel close to God. But there’s Good News The good news is that no matter how weak your faith, God has the power to strengthen you. But How? It’s not that we try to be good enough to earn strong faith from God — or that we try to be positive and raise our spirits. Neither of those is taught in the Bible. But in the Bible God invites us to take steps that He will use to strengthen our faith.
First — Pray and Ask Jesus to Help You
Immediately the father of the child cried out and said, “I believe; help my unbelief!” (Mark 9:24 )
How did Jesus respond? He answered the man’s prayer. So don’t think you need strong faith before Jesus will listen to you. Turn to Him just as you are — with your weak faith — and cry out to Him for help. Confess that your faith is weak. Ask Him to forgive you through the Cross. Ask Him to strengthen your faith. Because of His death on the Cross, He will welcome you, love you, forgives you.
Do you know the song " Sing to the Lord "?
I'll sing just a part of the song for you
He died upon the cross and He made me whole
Come on and sing
Sing to the Lord a new song
Come on and sing and praises God forevermore
That song tells us the sacrifices of Jesus Christ for us to be forgiven, for us to be with heavenly father again as a thanksgiving we need to praise God with all thy heart, soul, and mind.
Second — Hear the Word of Christ
So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ. ( Rom 10:17) Paul teaches that as we hear the Word of God, God will bring His power upon us and strengthen our faith. Open to a passage which is full of God’s love and faithfulness and promises in Christ. And prayerfully read over that passage, asking Jesus to strengthen your faith, so you see and feel that His promises are true.
Am sure in doing the two steps that I've to tell you, you will feel the holy spirit changing your heart, making Jesus more real to you, satisfying your soul and strengthening your faith. That's all What I wanna share to all of you. I believe that all of what I've shared are true. In Jesus name, Amen.
